There’s also a furore over the way that this infringes the rights of US Citizens as it requires ALL passengers to be scanned. I believe there’s an issue with the matching of outbound scans when the individual was not scanned in the first place (e.g. a Citizen who has never travelled abroad before - or at least since this scheme started to be rolled-out).
I don’t think we’ve seen the last of this story!
I heard that Canadians who aren't part of Nexus are the ones experiencing the biggest problem. US Citizens are checked against the US passport database pictures but most Canadians don't have any of their biometric details registered with CBP (Facial or fingerprint).
