extending validty of points

Hi all. I have made a search for the relevant threads before posting.

I have made a ebay purchase on 28/11 and received the email from Qantas Mall acknowledging my purchase and that I will get my points within 30 days. I read they only do a monthly credit and to date I have not received it. My points are expiring 31 Dec and I am located outside of Australia.

Does anyone know if it will post exactly 30 days after purchase or will take more than that?

If i do not receive the points in time, I would make a hotel booking with points, I would think the points get deducted immediately when I do the booking? Thank you in advance for any response
