Should remember that the MD-88 (possibly the MD-90's) also have a rear stairwell thats built in that should allow passengers to deplane from. Good point.

I have exited via the rear stairs when the GA, after 15 minutes of trying, could not successfully position the jetway.

It would be interesting to know how many of the planes stranded in the tarmac were MD aircraft.

Don't the MDs make up about 20% of the DL fleet?
