I am not sure why some people need to be so aggressive on a community that is supposed to be about sharing information and opinions on travel.
Most comments made on fellow contributors usually tell more on the persons that make those statements than on those whose comments were intended for.
I have learned a lot through FlyerTalk and, in return, have happily passed along many information that came to my attention.
I also do not see the points of changing the meaning of what others have posted, as all participants can review what has been posted and check what has actually been said.

Like many others here, a few years ago, I have experienced the Continental / United 'merger' and have seen the consequences it could have on the passengers.
My experience with Marriott started after the sale of Starwood and I am - obviously - observing the way Marriott is proceeding to fully integrate Starwood.

The negative posts will not change anything in my interests in how things are evolving at Marriott's and I will continue to post what I feel might be useful to some, in a respectful manner without getting involved in divisive unrelated matters.

I will add that, so far, the Marriott hotels I have stayed at, have been very good to me and my family.
