Confirming what Courmisch has so eloquently already stated: You will earn tier points on AY marketed flights operated by random carriers - I've earned points flying Sh*tstar (JQ) for instance.
And as a side-note QF loves to give me a platry 188 (one hundred and eighty-eight) tier points for lowest fare MEL-SYD flights
