i was told by the DEN and ATL UC staff that 1 is allowed definitively. As a data point this year alone I’ve probably used this method over 100 times (close to 300PQS) and never had an issue thus far.

Did not say it wasn't but (as has been reported multiple times on FT) it may occasionally create an issue. Glad you have avoided that issue.
