Regional connections in JNB (or bus alternatives)

Hey y'all,

So I'm contemplating going to southern African nations, including Lesotho and Swaziland, which seemingly are only connected to JNB, thus necessitating at least 1 stop there. From what I've seen, it's possible to do MSU-JNB-SHO in as little 3-4 hours including transfer but is JNB a reliable place for such tight connections? In all honesty, I have absolutely 0 desire to set foot in Johannesburg so long connections are what I'm trying to avoid!

Failing that, I've considered buses from Johannesburg (or even Gaborone to Maseru) to Mbabane/Maseru, especially as they're bound to be much cheaper than flying! But, again, not really hot on the idea of having to be in Johannesburg at all...so if anyone has ever flown in and out of JNB with like 1 hour stops, that'd be good to hear!

Thanks!
