I found this incredible, United was asking for volunteers to take a different flight and paying customers to do so. I called and stated I would be willing to take a flight to a different airport as I live between the two for no charge if it would alleviate the problem. The response was I could do it for a $200 change fee plus $100 fee for the fare difference. I was tying to help them out and this was the response, absolutely insane, would not even check to see if other flight had available seats. Wow, I guess United really does not get it!
