AA: Chicago - Shanghai

Financial Times is talking about the new agreement between US and China government:

"According to the draft agreement, the Chinese government will allow new designations for US carriers to fly into China. Currently only United Airlines and Northwest are allowed to offer direct passenger services to China. The first new designation could be granted as early as August, with more in 2006, 2008 and 2010. The first new designation could spark a fight between American Airlines - which has long campaigned to be able to fly from Chicago to Shanghai - and Delta. Gerard Arpey, chief executive of American, spent several days in Beijing this month as part of an Asian tour."
