If you think LHR T5 is bad, try BHD (Belfast City). Dingy security hall. Noisy. Surly security staff and a general feeling of bedlam. The whole experience gets worse if you're pulled out for secondary search, which has happened to me on several occasions Then you're left standing around until someone can be bothered to turf everything out of your bag and rummage for who knows what ? Can't just be my English accent that brings it on either ! I have relatives in Belfast and they loath the experience as well.
