Are there any other scheduled long hauls from STN? I know there have been a few short lived attempts (AA to JFK for one).
AA only went in to get rid of the two Luton - New York Premium Airlines (one was more Premium Economy) - can't remember both their names - but when they both went bust, AA left sharpish.
Wasn't it also Air Asia's hub for a short lived KUL-STN service? Suspect Tel Aviv is it's current longest flights.
I live in North London, and Stansted is the worst of the 3 main airports for me to reach by public transport. Just checked out Citymapper for departures now - Stansted is 91 minutes, Gatwick 82, Heathrow 63 mins (91 if ignoring the Heathrow express). Even Southend Airport (which is fab) is only 94 minutes away. Stansted has the most connections of the airport. I pretend Luton doesn't exist, but if it did it would only take me 71 minutes to get there. City of course is 54 mins, but I mainly fly long haul so less helpful.
