Every E175 F cabin I've personally flown in has been 1-2. It's the roomiest narrowbody F among the basic domestic configs I regularly see. If somebody is doing it 2x2...yeah, that sounds tight. It'd be coach width...something that doesn't seem like would sell well as a U.S. domestic F product. (Short-haul J in the EU....it would make sense for that, perhaps.)
I'm 6'4" with wide shoulders and I've seriously never had a problem with fuselage curvature in F. I definitely notice this in coach if I'm in a forward window seat.
