Puce Stamps were trading stamps that the critters in the Okiefenokie swamp of the Comic strip Pogo collected and saved. (Walt Kelly died years ago and the strip POGO ceased).

Anyway Puce stamps had printed on the it's face "Worthless". The joy of collecting and saving puce stamps came from the licking and pasting in books as you could not trade them in for anything of value.
