Unfortunately, my wife is now in a condition whereby it is considered unwise to visit Mexico as a result of the Zika virus being present there. While the risk is incredibly low and the hotel think we are mad to cancel, it seems incredibly stupid to ignore the warnings of a medical professional and go regardless. Luckily, we booked the flights on avios (F all the way), and the hotels are refundable so we aren’t going to be out of pocket.

Now we are left without a holiday. We have 11 days from the 24th Feb, about 500,000 avios and a 2for1 voucher. We would like to go somewhere warm and Zika Free (not easy in February). Also, my wife despises most ‘resorts’, far preferring boutique hotels.

I realise this isn’t a travel agency but if anyone has any great ideas I could look into, I would really appreciate it.
How about Montevideo ? Great weather, fascinating city, easy routing via MAD with nice IB Business Class on MAD-MVD... Haven't checked Avios availability though...
