Trust me, they are both GREAT airlines. Some people get picky over this and that, but they are both great airlines.

Suggestion...if you are going round trip between NYC and TPA, take DL one way, and B6 the other way. That way you can experience both airlines for yourself, and based on your experiences, you will know what to book next time you fly between NYC and TPA.
