The banning of e-cigarettes has no safety basis whatsoever. The main reason they ban it is that it would be hard to distinguish real cigarettes and e-cigarettes in the cabin, so policing it would be an added burden to the crew. No danger to the plane or the pax though.

Regarding the use of mobile phone, I used to believe what the airlines were saying about interacting with the plane equipment, until the rules started to change from one airline to another (switch off until docking or just alter touch down etc), showing that there is no hard evidence behind the ban. There has not been any single documented incident caused by mobile phone. Millions of passengers forget to switch off their phone or tablet and nothing happens. I still switch off my phone and am annoyed by those who don't, but I see no rational reason for my behaviour!
Sounds like you are in favor of breaking any rules you want if they don't make sense to you.
