Also, don't forget that as this is a downgrade, you are entitled to EC 261/2004 refund of 75% of the segment fare. If you ask to be rebooked onto a carrier such as UA which does not have PE, that is a voluntary change on your part and you do not receive anything for it. Before doing anything, take a look at what you will see as a refund. It may be a very cheap ticket by the time all is said and done !
