While I was on the US-ICN-US routes with premium F, I was also on two segments that they no longer sell F on--sort of like when DL was installing BE and removing F (how long ago was that!?!) I was on an F award and was originally seated in J on ICN-BKK and HKG-ICN. However, at the airport, I had absolutely no difficulty getting reassigned in rows 1-2; at JFK I was polite, but firm when the agent suggested I take care of it in ICN--she said she would get her supervisor to look at it and 1/2 hour later found me in the F lounge with a new BP. In HKG, I'd barely said "row" before the agent said she would be delighted to change my seat assignment. While this is not exactly what HKG_FLyer1 is discussing, it is worth noting. That said, I'd follow up with Delta--perhaps with a phone call--as paying for F (with miles) and getting PremY (not even J) calls for the return of some mileage. Incidentally hysterical that even KE thinks that their J is no better than a PremY product...
If there are laptop ports on either the 744 or 777 KE is doing a horrible job of promoting them--as there is no mention of them on their website, in the in-flight magazine; not to mention there is no sight on them on board--I did not ask a FA. The flat-beds are identical (both in seating and entertainment) those those on AF (as of 2001) which also do not have laptop power.
