I have such wonderful memories of that line

. The very first time I visited Japan, something went wrong with the Narita Express, and the staff at Narita sent us onto the commuter train. It made several very long stops. And, along the way some problem arose that required the train to turn around and head the other direction one stop short of Tokyo station, which was our desired changing point. Being the commuter train, announcements were not made in tourist-go so we had nfc. So after it sat at that station for 10-15 minutes, it then started back the other direction. One stop later, (back toward Narita) we got out, somehow figured out how to get back going the other direction, and finally made it to Tokyo Station. Finding Yamanote wasn't too bad, but then going from Shinbashi to the Conrad was confusing.
In the end it took us about 5 hours to get from exiting the airplane to lying down in our hotel room.
