Name change to JR Airport Narita Rapid train service

Currently JR runs two types of direct train service from Tokyo to Narita Airport:

Narita Express (Limited Express Train)
Reserved seating, 54 min. non-stop between Tokyo and Narita Airport, space to store suitcase

Airport Narita (Rapid service)
Commuter train type non-reserve open seating, stops about 17 stations along the way to Narita Airport, an hour and 27 min. ride to the airport, no area for large suitcase storage.

Starting March 17, 2018 JR will no longer call the rapid service commuter to Narita Airport as “Airport Narita.” Trains will simply be called rapid service train just like any other commuter trains. Will be destination on outside of the train indicating “Narita Airport.”
