I could not find any related infos in the internet, so hopefully someone might know about this.

In most cases, luggage is insured way under its real value (Montreal agreement) and even if additional. insurance cover (house/travel/creditcard insurance) it is often a pain in the ... to deal with this.

I know from one Airline (China Airlines to be named), that it is possible to declare a higher value luggage ahead of check-in.
Fee is an affordable 1 US$ per 1OO US$ of value. Maximum sum is set at 2.500 US$, so those extra 25 US$ seems to be a good deal (well, for me).

Does BA offer something similiar as well and if yes, does someone know the exact details regarding fees and max possible insurance sum ?

Story is I am planing to fly Business to Asia, thus taking a product (in large quantity) with me ~ so I am quite afraid of a total loss ...

So ... does someone know ?
