I don't think this has been the case for probably about a year in terms of entree choices. Alcohol is also "enhanced" in F vs. J.
Caveat though is AA are taking the F out of the 772 aircraft and you could book first and find it is a Business only plane. Reservations warned me of this for travel next year.
There are no more 772s with first class (or angled-flat J seats, for that matter). @:-) Of course they can still swap a 77W out for a 772...
