Not sure what to do here. Mrs C (GGL) gifted a gold card to a relation who was blue a day or two into her new year (year ended but card still valid). My understanding is that the gold status is for the whole of the year and the succeeding year but one would have to phone GGL to manually input this. Call again and speak to somebody else. The card should run for the whole of the current year and all of the next, so you are correct, but if you upgrade somebody after their year end, but during the period in which their current card is still valid, the process falls over. Hopefully another call to the GGL line should sort it out.
