But the point is that you wouldn't actually have to create a special list (and I'm guessing the list for each cabin and flight wouldn't be THAT big). The functionality for waitlisting is already build into the res system. All that revenue management would have to do is to switch the avios booking classes to W instead of 0, and agents could just waitlist a sector. The tricky bits are whether you a) trust BA's automated waitlist clearance process, if there even is such a thing, and b) how the waitlist clearance is communicated to customers (given BA's system isn't galactic at automatic emailing for schedule changes and cancellations)...
