I haven't actually been contacted by AP regarding this schedule change yet. Only noticed it myself while checking something else.
EDIT:
This actually got me thinking. What would have happened if I didn't notice this issue, and AP never notified me? What if by the time I noticed there were no award space at all available to get me to my destination? Would I basically be SOL?
Onus is on them. This said, having a god solution to suggest them is always a good idea. And good solutions are in the habit of disappearing.
But I would expect that Aeroplan will rebook at one point. But that does not necessarily mean that th result will be great. So better being proactive.
My latest experience: two tickets, one Aeroplan, one paid P fare, identical itineraries. First leg experienced a minor schedule change, leving five minute earlier. Aeroplan reissued pretty quick. AC eventually also but two months later or so. (BTW not sure why resissuing was needed.)
