OT, but not everyone lives on a coast... when I'm in San Diego, I find that many people forget this. Sometimes I wonder whether they could even pinpoint a city like St. Louis on a map. All that stuff in between is just flyover country, I guess.
But it's a good point nonetheless -- for people doing end-of-year MRs, being on a coast certainly helps for accumulating needed miles on domestic transcons, and it's amazing how cheap advance fares can be these days.
