This is an unfortunate thing that happens almost everywhere. The most difficulty I've experienced with taxis is at Brussels airport (Zaventem) and at London Heathrow. I used to travel between those 2 cities frequently and my offices were located nearby both airports. You should have seen some of the fights I had with these ba$tards. It wasn't pretty. Once I got into a cab at BRU and after I got settled in about a minute into the trip, he asked where I wanted to go. When I said I was going to a nearby office, he slammed on the brakes and told me to get out! Can you believe that? I typically tip well if it's just a short trip, but if they're rude or unfriendly, forget it!
I've had equally rude drivers out of Heathrow. I don't really give a rat's a$$ if they have to get back into the queue and wait for another fare once they've dropped me off. That's life. And if you can't stand what you do, change careers. I've learned now to cut them off once they start griping to me that they've been waiting all morning for a decent fare. I'm so tired of being treated so rudely after a flight. I simply tell them that they'll get paid when they drop me off at my destination and I am not paying them for conversation.
