Unhappy BA mobile app for Windows phone: dead or alive?

I'm a Windows phone user and have been using the BA mobile app on it happily for the past two years or so. It maybe doesn't sing or dance the way the newer iOS and Android apps do, but it does what I want, telling me about forthcoming flights, listing my Avios and tier points, checking me in and - perhaps most important - downloading boarding passes. I last used it two weeks ago on a trip to JNB and back.

This week it failed to update to show a new booking. So I logged out. When I tried to log back in I got the message "Sorry, we are currently unable to log you in or retrieve your upcoming flights. Please retry later." So I did, for a couple of days, and always received the same message.

I emailed Exec Club and quickly had a reply telling me to call the main Exec Club number (with no reason given why my email wasn't properly answered there and then). I did, and after about 20 minutes spoke to an agent who suggested I uninstall and reinstall the app, and didn't seem at all interested in the fact that it was the Windows app, not one of the other two. This didn't work, needless to say. I still get the same message.

Lots of Windows phone apps are being retired these days, but most tell you it's about to happen (in fact the Heathrow app has told me several times in the past month, but is still working, more or less). But there's no info anywhere about the possible death of the BA app. Can anyone out there confirm what I suspect? And if my app is dead, how will I get a mobile boarding pass in future, as I think you can only get one on an app and not any other way? Or do I have to go back a decade and print bits of paper or have an airport agent or kiosk do that for me when I fly on BA?
