What do I do at each airport with luggage and checkin for the flights? What do I do with security and customs at each country?
Looks like I will have the needed points just could not find any information on the travel process and how it would affect my luggage/checking back in at the same airport that I just landed at.
So seperate tickets
IND-JFK on AA booked on BA (what ever that means- with avios?)
JFK-FRA on SQ
FRA-AUH on EY
AUH-JNB on EY
As post 2 above plan to pick up luggage at each airport, including going through immigration & customs where needed.
Then check in and through security for the next flight.
This will take time
Better if hand luggage only (carry on)
While not directly effecting your trip many OW airlines will not interline checked baggage on separate tickets.
Bag interlining issues and OW policy changes (Combined threads)
You will need to check visa requirements for each country you enter. Even if only a few hours for the next flight.
