They are not as automatic as they should be or used to be! You need to 'request' what you want these days or make sure your Ambassador is doing it for you! Goodwill has almost vanished from the program now from most hotels side so you need to be prepared to question them and make them give you what you actually are entitled to. This clearly does not apply to all hotels and if you stay at properties frequently you often find they can be excellent but this has less to do with Platinum Status and more to do with being a frequent guest of that hotel!
