Anyone else annoyed with YVR taxi's?
I had the following taxi experience after my ZIP flight YYC-YVR..
I boarded Surdell Cab #93 on June 13th at approx 17:45 for a trip into Richmond Centre from the Domestic Arrivals. I asked the driver if it would be ok that I pay by VISA. He grunted and said fine. He then asked why I can't pay 20 dollars cash for the ride, why don't I have cash on me. I think that is none of his business, and it's my choice how I want to pay. If they don't want to take VISA, they should stop offering to take VISA. He then said he didn't know where Minoru and Granville Road in Richmond was. However he seemed to find it without any help. He then looked at my visa, and said it was not mine. I showed him my DL to prove him wrong. He imprinted my card, and gave me a blank imprint to sign, with no price in it. I asked him why he did not write the price in the box. He did not respond, and I asked him again, he mumbled to write the fare down. I did not leave him a tip because I felt he was very rude. He saw that, and refused to give me my copy of the imprint. After asking for it twice, he gave it to me. I have been very hesitant to take a cab into Richmond, from the airport. Especially when the cab is from Surrey or Vancouver. The drivers seem to feel disappointed when they only have to drive to Richmond and not beyond. Is anyone else annoyed with this? Do cabbies benefit less when someone pays by Credit Card?
It's kinda funny, as I left the Domestic Arrivals door I looked at the Limo Jet Gold stand and then the taxi. Deep down inside I said, go for the LIMO... I wish I did. haha
