Yeah, you would need to take 99. I think I-10 through Texas is worse than I-5, but there are some neat places along that route too.
If you want architecture, arts, fine dining, etc. go somewhere else.
If you want genuine good people who know how to have a good time, many
of the most boring cities listed are the best IMO.
