I am eager to buy the new iPhone X and saw that Apple were offering 8 avios per £1 spent as opposed to the usual 4 Avios. For a £999 phone, that is a lot of Avios! My questions:

1) Has anyone tried this offer using this promotion and have they received the double Avios? I ask as the website clearly states not available for new products (incl. the X)
2) Will the iPhone X be eligible when the offer reverts to the normal 4 Avios per £1 spent? (which in itself is still a lot of Avios)
