I particularly like the second idea and think it could be a great way for Accor to make many more people happier. On most of my trips I'm not interested in a hotel breakfast, but 20% of the time I'd really appreciate it. The same goes for a drink in the hotel bar. So why not let us have a say on which benefits we get and when? Free drinks as an option, free breakfast as an option, guaranteed suite upgrades once or twice a year...
Im mid trip using Hilton/Accor. I also would go for the latter...Hilton My Way Benefits lets you select the type of benefit per hotel sub group. So I select what I like from each property and its clearly stated in your account booking what you get.

Using lounges at Accor where available is a mixed bag for me. Sofitel London and Athens have them for Plats and I used them.

Whilst I remember I am at the Novotel Athens at the minute and their full breakfast offering is 12 euros
