This is brought up quite often, sometimes in wider discussions about benefits (or proposed changes to benefits), occasionally in a thread of its own (e.g. here).

Among the better suggestions I've seen are (1) offering a reduced rate for breakfast for guests with status; (2) offering Platinum guests a choice of benefits.

I particularly like the second idea and think it could be a great way for Accor to make many more people happier. On most of my trips I'm not interested in a hotel breakfast, but 20% of the time I'd really appreciate it. The same goes for a drink in the hotel bar. So why not let us have a say on which benefits we get and when? Free drinks as an option, free breakfast as an option, guaranteed suite upgrades once or twice a year...

I'm not convinced that the breakfast you describe would become more desirable if it was offered for 15 EUR, or free.
