To get the cheapest fares to MEL (£1300 ish) it appears that you need to return to ARN. I was looking to return mid March and it looks like all the weekday flights are 10hr stopover, with only Saturday and Sunday being about 2hrs (not ideal if you have to return to work on Monday).
So instead I had to dig a bit deeper into those well worn pockets and stump up £1440 for OSL - MEL return. Still a great deal
You can also book the Thursday QR167 with a 2 hour layover (which I've done, although perhaps not in March). I prefer ARN as the BA flights are slightly cheaper than OSL (despite it being slightly further) and CE is materially better to ARN as you can take the 767 and it falls into the long catering band vs. OSL. Still sounds like you got a great deal though!
