First off, it's not fair to tag ValuJet/AirTran with this one - after all, it's been close to ten years....
The Valujet crash was due to Valujet loading hazardous cargo (which they shouldn't have), namely oxygen generators, into the hold, where they susbsequently ignited and caused the loss of aircraft.
Actually, your statement only goes half way, at that.
It is true that this incident occurred over 10 years ago, and it also is facially true that ValuJet loaded hazardous cargo onto its planes.
HOWEVER, YOUR STATEMENT IMPLIES THAT VALUJET KNEW THAT IT WAS LOADING SUCH HAZARDOUS CARGO. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE. THE OWNER OF THE OXYGEN GENERATORS LIED TO VALUJET AS I BELIEVE IT CLASSIFIED THE GENERATORS AS INNOCUOUS ITEMS, UNBEKNOWNST TO VALUJET.
I ALSO SEEM TO RECALL THAT THE CORPORATE OFFICERS OF THE THE DEFUNCT COMPANY FACED A CRIMINAL TRIAL AND I BELIEVE THEY WERE CONVICTED, ALTHOUGH I AM UNAWARE OF ANY SETENCE THEY MAY HAVE RECEIVED.
THEREFORE, YOUR STATEMENT, WITHOUT MORE, IS HIGHLY, HIGHLY MISLEADING.
