Taupo, what a wonderful trip report and lots of good advice. So glad you and MrsT (and yet-to-be little T) had a good time. I'm sure you and your family are already planning your next trip to Oz.Am heading there in 2 weeks with Little H although we'll be sticking around MEL area and Wilson's Prom (which we love) most of the time.

My experiences with QF and Virgin Blue have been similar to yours: QF had excellent service and was very helpful with kids or other 'extra-care' passengers. Flew on Virgin Blue for the first time in January and was not particularly impressed. But on such short flights, you go for the cheapest fare and takes what you gets.
