I'm a newly minted gold and have a trip to Detroit next month and was wondering what the deal was on preferred seating on Delta flights. At the moment I can't select either the preferred or the comfort+ seating, I appreciate for the latter I can only get this if I'm lucky and space is available at check in but I'm surprised I can't pick the preferred seats. Any ideas?
