Indigo London 1 Leicester Sq Reservation before hotel opens

I made a reservation at Indigo Leicester Sq in London for March of 2018. Got a confirmation number and everything, status shows as confirmed. Just checked to make another reservation at the same property and it looks that they are no longer taking reservations since the hotel will not open until April or later.
Should I be proactive and cancel the existing reservation and rebook, or should I wait for IHG to contact me and to offer some compensation? I am Ambassador and platinum. From my experience, IHG isn't really attentive or proactive towards customers.

I once booked CP in Osaka for 5 nights and hated it so much I left after the first night. Noone bothered to ask me why and if there was something wrong.

Not holding my breath for anything from IHG. Though in this case, they would technically be walking me and I might be eligible for compensation or a free night.

Any thoughts?
