Received an e-mail from LATAM Pass, informing me that in the second half of 2018, the "platform" for earning and redeeming rewards will change to Multiplus:

Notez qu’au cours du second trimestre 2018, la plateforme pour le cumul et l’échange de vos récompenses changera. Ainsi, lorsque vous souhaiterez accéder à l’un de ces services, vous le ferez à travers Multiplus : allié stratégique de LATAM dans votre pays pour le cumul et les échanges de points.
Nous vous contacterons à nouveau pour vous donner plus de détails sur cette modification lorsque la date de ce changement sera fixée.
So:
1) What on earth is Multiplus?
2) Does this also mean that award charts will change? [Is this change a backdoor route to dynamically priced redemptions?]
3) I was just about to jump into LATAM Pass (from AAdvantage) - but was waiting until 1-January to begin. Should this prospective change make me think twice?
4) Unrelated question: for elite qualification. are annual EQM and qualifying dollars in LATAM Pass counted from 1-Jan to 31-Dec? Or is the qualification period different?
