Guys and Girls, on a normal weekday there are upwards of 15 direct flights between LAX and OAK. Southwest alone has over 10 flights per day. Spirit and Delta round it off. Include SFO and another 45+ daily flights come into the mix.

OP, your contingency is fine. If it looks like going pear-shaped, be quick, book yourself an alternative to the bay area and you’ll be fine. Being aware of the risks is good but let’s not exagerate the risks. Unless this is the day before thanksgiving I see the precautions already taken as completely sufficient.
