The Westin in Dublin is certainly a great place to base yourself, particularly if you have not been to Ireland before ... search the Starwood forum for great info on this hotel.

You could even do without a car for many days, if based here. There is much to do in and around Dublin - Guinness Brewery , Trinity College, Malahine Castle, Historic Tours of Dublin in DD Bus, novel Amphibious Tour of Dublin including trip down the Liffey in a WW2 vehicle ^ , Galleries, etc. etc.

Much to do ... to much to detail here.
