Put it forward a couple of hours (8 a.m. flight or thereabouts) and it's the kind of distance where you might want a flexible LAX-OAK car reservation just in case... any sign of serious delays and you can offload yourself from the plane and drive to OAK as a last resort.

More seriously, there are enough other flights on that route that you could even stomach a cash flight and still make the outbound. I would time it to make sure you had enough time to get yourself onto another flight even if the original is cancelled (i.e., you haven't watched the last flight you could have taken depart before you're rebooked!)
