BOS-SJC 2 different planes, 2 mechanicals
Not meant to be my day to fly home from Boston. The 1810 nonstop 757 service to SJC came in from Cancun, and encountered some debris on the runway that knocked it out of service. New departure time of 1956 is posted, and we're going to use the 757 coming in from Orlando. Head to the AC, and back out just before flight time, for boarding. Head out towards the runway, and the pilot said there'e something slowing down the plane, and we return to the gate (did get a Heineken before we made it back, though). Determined it was a stuck brake on the main wheels. Fixed that and we were in the air about 3 hours late from original departure time, with a midnight arrival, after curfew, at San Jose (pilot said mechanical delays are exempt from the curfew there).
Pretty nice flight once in the air. Nice small salad with croutons and bacon bits, and I selected the seafood risotto that I've enjoyed before. The other entrees were fettucine with mushrooms, and beef with mashed potatoes. Ice cream sundaes for dessert with rasberries (I just had the ice cream with some amaretto poured over it....and was sound asleep shortly thereafter).
Did catch up with TrojanHorse and some friends for lunch out near Fenway Park, and did some hiking around in gorgeous weather, including a visit over to MIT.
This brings me up to 94K base miles for 2004.
