I don't think there's space to relocate security. My vague recollection is that the Central Terminal used to be set up so that everything airside was connected (I think the WTMDs and x-ray machines used to be in the little gaps between the ticket counters before you even got to the rear hallway), but el Teatro Seguridad de America moved the security checkpoints into the concourses themselves because they needed more space for their massage parlors and liquid explosive mixing vessels. I'm sure this will be remedied when the new Central Terminal launches in the 22nd century or whenever they finish it.
