Cancelling a UUA'd booking within 24 hours
Hi,
I have a non-refundable T-class booking that I UUA'd into U class. I fly tomorrow (i.e. within 24 hours), and might need to cancel it.
AIUI, if I cancel now, I get only the government/airport taxes back, and nothing else. I do not get my UUA Avios back, as within 24 hours.
However, the underlying T-class fare is changeable for £150 (+ reprice). Does that mean I could effectively pay £150 to 'buy' my UUA Avios back, by moving the ticket to a future date where T and U class is available, and then cancelling?
If so, I think this will be worthwhile as I value the UUA Avios at more than £150.
Thanks in advance.
