Good service trumps the hard product
Flew to MAD in CE on the 789 on Thursday and whilst it was nice to get a CW flat bed, the service was a little underwhelming (the junior crew member even had to check whether they served champagne in CE and then 3-4 people including myself were initially forgotten for the meal service - I had to press the call bell to ask).
On the return last night, I was disappointed when the 789 changed to a mid haul a321 and then to a 319. However, the outstanding service delivered by the CSM made me realise that I'd much rather have an ordinary hard product for these short flights provided that the service is good. Golden ticket sent.
A great BA service is hard to beat.
