I have spent the last week attempting to clean up my wife and my return reservation BKK-HKG-SFO-LAS, On the out bound we mis-connected in HKG and the Hong Kong Airline transfer desk lady got us on the next flight out , but in doing so our itinerary was super buggered up. 1K desk said to wait and "Otto" would correct it in a few days, automatically. Partially true, however we were still out of sync as of a few hours ago. A call to res took care of the matter (hopefully) or we were not getting on a 3:30 a.m. flight out of BKK next Friday, I was told.
Moral of my story - Check- Check again - Double/Triple Check --- Especially if you are on another carrier on any portion, because if something is going to go south, that's where it will happen.
Side note --- If the OP was on Smile Airlines out of Phuket, it IS NOT Thai Air (as of a few years ago) and that's where I have been screwed over previously thinking my itin was good to go. When arriving at the ticket counter,, I needed to purchase another ticket to KKC (Khon Kaen), and back. My status means nothing in BKK now and that includes the club. The OP apparently flew a portion on Asiana, calling them was very prudent, and I don't understand why that agent didn't see a fly in the ointment, unless his res got messed up after his outbound, like mine did.
