Incidentally, a bit to my surprise, LHR-IST passenger numbers are actually up on on last year, and up more still on the year before - it's all the regional UK / resort flights where the passenger numbers and flights are well down on previous years.
Istanbul is a great city. Also the market for hair implants there is flourishing. On my last flight back I spotted at least 10 with head bandages (even the CSM made a little joke about it) perhaps this ‘growth’ is driving some of the growth.
